Welcome to Continue the Work for Creating a Vision for Higher Education and Research
In March 2017, we launched work for creating a vision for higher education and research in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture, higher education institutions, research institutes and stakeholders. The purpose is to formulate a common future scenario of a high-quality, effective and international higher education and research system in Finland by the year 2030.
It is great that so many have taken part in formulating the vision. We received ideas from almost 3 000 respondents via the online brainstorming platform in the spring. We have also met face to face in various localities and diverse compositions – these encounters for work on behalf of the future have brought hundreds of people together. A big thank you to all participants!
On this online brainstorming platform, ideas presented so far can be assessed and further elaborated. The key issues of higher education and research – and the Finnish society – in terms of the future have been gathered under two main themes. We need more experts with an academic degree and new kinds of skills. We need a culture of working together and a visionary approach evolving from it.
